Candice and I continue to struggle to get plugged in at Covenant Life Church. We recently located a church care group that is close in proximity to our apartment so we’re looking forward to forming some relationships there. I take full responsibility for the struggle we’re having. I have placed so much emphasis on getting this exam behind us, that getting plugged in and serving has become a lower priority than a passing score. As you can imagine that has opened us up to struggles in other areas in our lives. Pray that I would be deceived no longer and that I would embrace my role as husband and father and become the leader of our home that God has called me to be.
I am learning at work that I really don’t get a lot of joy out of what I do. I am truly grateful that I am employed and able to provide for my family. However, there is not much more fulfillment than that. So I am asking myself the question, what do I want to do when I grow up? I think maybe one of the reasons that God brought us down here may be to reveal that to us. In the meantime, I continue to remind myself to do all things without grumbling and to work to the glory of God.
We have formed a few relationships down here with some people that don’t know God. We have shared the Gospel with them as God presents opportunities. Please pray that we would be faithful in our witness and our testimony would be a light to them.
Finally, thank you all for your continued prayers. I have successfully completed the second section of the exam and have only two to go. I hope to have them complete by this summer and we’re looking forward to see what doors God may open at that time.
I don’t know when our next visit will be at this time, but I look forward to seeing you all again. Until then, we are praying for all of you.
